Care Instructions

Divina Impact, Statement and Divina Melange fabrics are 100% new wool from the internationally renowned Danish company Kvadrat.

  • Wool is a renewable resource
  • Wool is very comfortable because of its ability to absorb / give off humidity
  • Wool is flame retardant
  • Wool is biodegradable
  • Wool is naturally soil resistant
  • Wool ages with grace
  • Regular cleaning is important in order to keep the upholstery textile looking its best and to prolong its life. Dust and dirt wear down the textile and also reduce its fire-retardant properties.
  • Normal cleaning involves vacuuming frequently, ideally every week, at half power where appropriate.

If you act quickly, it is not difficult to remove spills and prevent stains from forming. However, complete stain removal cannot be guaranteed.

  • First, scrape off any liquids or hardened residues with a spoon or a scoop before you proceed. Any loose particles must be vacuum cleaned before further cleaning.
  • Liquids must be soaked up with an absorbent napkin or cloth.
  • Remove non-greasy stains by carefully dabbing with a lint-free cloth or sponge wrung out in warm water.
  • Edge marks can be avoided by dabbing gently in circular motions towards the centre of the stain with a clean lint-free cloth.
  • Remove greasy stains by using appropriate detergents or solvents. In all cases, we recommend to test stain-removal agents on an inconspicuous area first, to see if there is any effect on the cover.
  • Make sure to dry the fabric fully before use. It may also be necessary to use a hairdryer to avoid leaving edge marks.
  • These tips are purely recommendations and cannot guarantee complete stain removal. In all cases, we recommend contacting a professional dry cleaning.
  • In order to ensure satisfactory results, particularly for large stains, we recommend contacting a professional dry cleaner. It is important to state whether the stain has already undergone treatment.
  • Due to excess dye in jeans, dark jeans may leave stains on textiles. Washing and cleaning may not always lead to satisfying results.
  • Warning – do not rub the material hard because this could result in loss of colour or potentially damage the nap.
  • Be careful when using solvents; these could dissolve the upholstery materials beneath. Never use un-concentrated detergents or bleach, ammonia or soap intended for hard surfaces.
  • Removing stains from textiles in the Divina range can be difficult, as the fabric is being pressed after fulling in order to achieve the felt-like surface.
  • Particularly on new woollen covers, the fibres will slightly rise when the fabric becomes moist. The moist area will appear as a darker stain. The textile cannot be pressed again, however, it is possible to reduce the discoloration by spraying water over the entire furniture piece.
  • When using the furniture and at normal humidity levels, the wool fibres will rise and potential stains will become less visible.

Ledger is a non-woven fabric with the look and feel of leather. Kvadrat teamed up with New York based Maharam to make this innovative material available for the contract market.

  • Made from 100% polyurethane with polyester backing.
  • Extremely hard-wearing.
  • Particularly well suited for contract environments.
  • Wipe regularly with warm water and neutral detergent.
  • Use a clean, white, soft cloth or sponge.
  • Vacuum clean with soft brush.
  • Disinfection: possible with various detergents such as surgical spirit 70-85% alcohol, chlorine disinfection containing active chlorine at 1000-1200 ppm.
  • After cleaning, rinse repeatedly with cool, clean water.
  • Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents.
  • Always pre-test in an invisible area before cleaning.
  • Treat stains promptly. The longer a stain remains on the textile, the more difficult it will be to remove.
  • A professional furniture cleaning service is recommended.
  • Always pre-test any cleaning method in an inconspicuous area.
  • Several light applications of a cleaning agent are less harmful than a single concentrated application.
  • Repeat stain treatment several times if necessary.
  • Never use heat to clean textiles. Heat can set stains.
  • Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents such as lacquer thinners, nail polish remover, or pine oil. These agents may cause discoloration over time.
  • Do not over saturate the textile or let water pool in seams.
